Kingston Seniors Festival

Again this year after a break, the Community Garden hosted an open day on Tuesday 17 October from 10 am to 12.30 pm for Kingston seniors as part of the 2023 Seniors Festival.

Some of the produce available on the day.

The garden was open for guided tours, and member Phil Reid gave an excellent and engaging talk about wicking beds at his plot. Organiser Joanne Cody spoke about our communal raised garden boxes and the herbs that we grow in them. Other club members shared some of their produce with our visitors and and we had seedlings to give away. Council staff were in attendance and Mayor Hadi Saab and Deputy Mayor Chris Hill dropped in. We are grateful for the support of Bunnings who supplied seedlings, potting mix and fertilisers.
